 Written in 1912 by Oxford scholar C.W.C Oman, 'Wellington's Army' provides a 'formal history' of the Duke of Wellington's Peninsular Army. As well as outlining the battles and events that took place between 1809 and 1814, Oman explores of the 'day to day experience and psychology of the army'. In doing so, Oman provides a holistic account of the Peninsular Army in order to provide a greater understanding of their 'exploits' during this period. The book begins with a portrait of Arthur Wellesley, Duke of Wellington.
