The Soviet Air Force In World War II: The Official History (1974) By Ray Wagner

The book is chronological starting with the pre-war period, before quickly delving into Operation "Barbarossa," Germany's attack into the Soviet Union. The book then moves to the defense of Moscow, the summer campaign of 1942, and the Battle of Stalingrad. It then goes on to cover the air battles of the Kuban and Kursk during 1943, the lifting of the siege of Leningrad in 1944, and the drive westwards to Berlin. It finally concludes with a chapter on the defeat of the Japanese Kwangtung Army in 1945.

It also provides information on some uniquely Soviet aspects of the air war such as mid-air ramming and women combat fighter pilots.
