The Seventh Day: Soldiers Talk about the Six-Day War (1971) By Avraham Shapira

Shortly following the end of the Israeli-Arab "Six Day War" of June 1967, several dozen Israeli soldiers who grew up in kibbutzims were interviewed in several discussion groups to discuss their views about their war experiences, the meaning of the war and its outcome, how Arab soldiers were treated during battle & capture.

They had their discussions tape recorded, and some of their comments were published in this book in October 1967, just a brief four months after the end of the war.

This is not a book about military tactics or unit histories.

When this book was originally published, what readers found so shocking were limited comments by some Israeli soldiers about their hatred of their Muslim opponents.
