Stretched Banksy 'Girl Searching Soldier' Print on Wooden Frame
 
On the screen print Banksy CND Soldiers faces one of his recurring themes: the condemnation of war. The work represents two hidden soldiers intending to paint on a wall the CND logo, best known as the peace sign.
 
The work comes as a complaint to the English Parliament, which was involved in the Iraq war. The screen print shows that even individuals who are vehicles and pawns of war, like soldiers, have grown tired of their engagement.
 
Thanks to the juxtaposition of soldiers and the peace sign, Banksy reaffirms the ambiguity of peace and war. The satirical conflict between the soldiers with their guns alongside the iconic peace sign questions the viewers on the role of the army of keeping the peace.
