Gimlet Off the Map, by W. E. Johns was published in July 1951 by Brockhampton Press. It was the eighth Gimlet book.
The events in the book take place mainly in the jungles of British Honduras (today Belize).
French publisher Aredit adapted the story for their King comic series in an album entitled King et les Indiens, published in February 1970.
