Ace Of Aces M St J Pattle (1992) By E C R Baker

Essential reading for any WWII aviation enthusiast; this book tells of a little-known ace, in a little-known theater of war - Greece. He was the top scoring non-Soviet, allied flyer; and he did it largely in a biplane. But more important than the history, this gripping biography was painstakingly researched to the point that it reads like an autobiography, with blow-by-blow descriptions of each combat.

A Great Book about a little known underrated great RAF Ace and forgotten World War Theatre of War.

Squadron Leader Marmaduke 'Pat' Pattle deserves more recognition as one of the all time great Allied Aces of WW2. What's more his record with an obsolete Glocester Gladiator is remarkable. Had he lived at least longer into the war when the Allies began turning the tide of Axis advances his record may have been even greater and people would have been more familiar with his achievements.
